A full moon, a full lunar eclipse, on the winter solstice?!?!?!? I’m settin’ my alarm to get up for this one. This is not a crack! This is a giant chasm. Hang on to your hats!<br /><br />Your discussion also made me think of crossing the threshold from sacred to profane and back again. The magic sometimes has a touch of the sacred, though not always. What rituals do we still perform that once held get sacred/magical protection that now have become a mere nod or mutter?<br /><br />We are lucky to be storytellers. We are able to cross over often and easily. All last week I told a story of the Moon Man coming to earth to steal a girl. The comments of the students and now this brilliant full moon, well, the story is so real. I don’t tell these stories just for the students. I tell them for myself as well. That said, I sure hope some of the students are able to see the full moon early this evening and that they remember the story of last week.
